I LOVE YOU New Car Seat
We made a mad dash on Sunday morning to Babies-R-Hell, installed the seat in the parking lot, and were subsequently late for a baby shower, but it's in.
We love it.
Finn can actually look out the window and it actually entertains him. I love the cover, especially that it's cotton and he's not against all that velour fakey stuff. Our boy is a wee sweat bomb and the cotton will keep him a bit cooler.
Yay new car seat. Goodbye nasty bucket. May you rot in hell. Okay, in the attic until we need you again.

Wow, cool car seat, I've never seen such a cool print! What kind is it?? We've had Edie in the Boulevard for about 2 months now and it is SOOOO much better than the bucket!
Very neat seat!! I love the colors! I hope you guys have a super Thanksgiving!!
What is the name of the toy Finn is holding onto in the pic? I've seen a few babies in online pics holding that little giraffe...and all seem to be in love with it!
OMG, guitars...fantastic! What kind is it? My parents are getting us Britax Roundabout for our tiny VW convertible--we're certainly going to miss the bucket/base with the two-door and with winter being a bummer, etc. But that guitar print might cheer me up. =D
The guitar print is actually a car seat slip-cover that we won from Cool Mom Picks. The brand is Babble Chic and they have this quick fit design that is actually REALLY easy to get on and off. After our puking in the car seat incident, I'm pretty happy to have the cover.
The toy is Sophie the Giraffe (I got her at Land of Nod). She's this French natural rubber with non-toxic paint little teething toy and Finn loves her. M. and I are reducing plastic so she's something Finn can chew on and we feel okay about it. In our house we call her Sophie II since we already have a cat Sophie.
Awesome car seat cover!! :) BTW I wasn't criticizing your decision...I don't think you took it that way, but I want to be sure. I'm still trying to figure this stuff out, and wanted to know why I might have to do the same thing one day, i.e. what to look for. :)
Oh, I didn't take it as criticism at all. I think there are three signs that you're ready to move one, and any one could be the tipping point. The baby is getting so heavy that you leave the bucket in. The baby fights the car seat to the point of unbearibiility. The baby outgrows the bucket. I don't think Finn had technically outgrown the bucket but we had hit our limit on the first and second.
Ahh, I didn't realize it was a special cover you bought to go *over* the carseat....duh. Should have known it was too cool for a car seat company to actually *put* on there. ;o/. We have just the boring as hell ones b/c I'm am a little bit neurotic about the car seat safety and Britax voids the warranty if you add anything....argh.
