Who Has a Big Boy Diaper?

We have a baby that does not fuss with a messy diaper. He fusses for food. He fusses for comfort. He would sit in a messy diaper all day. Which is why before every feed we change him. And it never fails that immediately after being fed, he will poop again. We've come to dread That Sound...I'm sure some of you know That Sound. We went through all his newborn diaps yesterday due to a couple impromptu poops and Finn got to wear the infant size overnight. This resulted in a new song for Finn involving the phrase "Who has a big boy diaper? Finn has a big boy diaper!".

Yes, we're a little crazy from lack of sleep. Or perhaps the craziness was always there and has simply been potentiated by the circumstances.

This am Finn decided it was time to eat and proceeded to do the head-butt/newborn crawl across M.'s chest. She thought he might be getting his hopes a little high. His feeds are starting to even out...up at 1 am, up at 5 am and that's it for the night. Thank goodness for Tivo!

Right now The Finn Man has decided that morning is Awake Time, right when mommy has decided morning is Get-Back-to-Bed Time.

We need to work on our timing.

"the sound" LMAO!!! soooo true!

i am so very glad to hear the breastfeeding is working out for you. i know the timing can be a little rough but you'll iron out all the kinks. in the beginning in can feel like you're on totally opposite schedules.

during the first few weeks with mikaela, i used to wear a long night shirt adorned with a frazzled, messy haired, bug-eyed stick figure that read "mommy needs sleep!" it was my mantra, my "power shirt" and kept me laughing even though there were moments i just wanted to cry and pass out. lol

Oh I so understand :) Sofia likes being up in the morning as well and I am exhausted and wanting to go back to bed but she disagrees so I have to entertain her a bit and then once she is good and tired and then wide awake and thinking well since I am up why not start doing something.

As for the diaper thing Sofia DEMANDS her diaper be changed even if an ounce of pee hits her diaper. She is furious about it. So there will be no dirty diapers for us. But I don't mind anything as long as she is healthy and happy I am good to go.

I don't know about you but Sofia decides she likes to start napping around 6:30 or 7:30 in the evening and then come 9 or so she is up and ready to do whatever and that is usually when I am dyeing and ready to go to bed but it doesn't happen. Oh well we will get our schedule together hopefully before I go back tow ork.

LMAO too!!! That's EXACTLY what Andrew did for the first month. I would put a new diaper on and then see his face turn red and THAT SOUND!
He also was fine with a disgusting diaper and cried when we changed him.
Then, all of a sudden, now at 2 months old, he hates a messy diaper and loves being changed. Weird.
