I'm such a freakin' blabber mouth

I swear at this point there are very few people left in the Seattle metropolitan area who don't know that we're pregnant. I read something in some book that it's the HORMONES that make you such a blabber mouth. I just feel that I can't hide this incredible news that we've worked so hard for. And there isn't much inside my head right now beyond good lord, I'm pregnant!

I think this is actually part of the process of pregnancy: total and complete obsession.

What haven't we done? We haven't bought a single baby item.

Aren't y'all proud?

Ummm, you've bought nothing?!! Are you feeling OK??!

Actually, I bought my first baby item prior to the IVF cycle; it was after my last hypnotherapy session and I came out feeling so positive that I wanted to get something straightaway, for our future baby. I got a cute little velour babygro, in pale yellow & white strips, with little teddies down the front. It was a real talisman during the treatment. I hold it against my stomach sometimes, and still find it hard to believe that we'll actually have someone to wear it in the not too distant future. Seems hard to credit when the foetus is still so tiny!

Seriously though, despite my ribbing above, it is the only baby item we've got so far. Bought a load of pregnancy books though, and some maternity wear!

Should have been stripes, not strips - you got that though didn't you? A babygro made of strips wouldn't be much good to anyone! ;o)

I'm amazed! We've bought a ton of stuff--cloth diapers, clothes, wipes, slings--if a baby showed up on our doorstep tomorrow, we'd be ready.

And we've only tried once. :)

You have plenty of time, we haven't bought anything either and I'm glad because if we had early in either of my pregnancies it would be really hard to look at those things now. HOWEVER - your betas are far better than mine ever were!! So no worries!

I can relate with you guys, I can't keep my mouth shut either. Yesterday was my office wide e-mail to my staff and the other people in my office that my partner and I are expecting. OMG I never thought that people could just look at me for so long with such smiles. It is amusing to say the least. The only thing now is I have people looking at my belly all the time and well I am just fat and bloated as of now but they still are looking. Best of luck to you guys. We havent' bought any baby stuff either. I have however purchased maternity close on e-bay wow that is a great place for used maternity clothes just an idea.

It's hard not to think about it and be excited. We told everyone too. And I can't believe you haven't bought anything!!! We own everything already because, well, we're crazy that way. :)

How well do I know the blabber mouth syndrome. When Kristin had her beta it was on CD9 and it was 7. But we figured out that anything over a 5 on CD9 was a positive pregnancy. But it was still iffy so we weren't going to tell anyone... but we had a party that night... and by the end of the night there wasn't anyone in Salt Lake who didn't know that we were pregnant. I'm so glad the karma gods didn't strike us down!

yeah I was also think of a certain stroller in the attic.... ;-)

I have tried really hard not to buy anything while TTC as part of my general campaign to keep hope and excitement at bay. Otherwise I can't handle the disappointments.

But I did buy a little lamb during our first cycle last October which Milena has hidden away for the day we need it.

Oh yeah, the stroller...ahem...the one that is too big to fit in the attic and it going to force us to HAVE to buy a new car. That one...

I mean, we didn't run out and buy out Babies-R-Us.

Wow! Not buying anything? In approximately 2002, we bought a ridiculously expensive camel colored baby dress from BabyGap because my sister had a mega discount that was expiring and we thought it was just so gorgeous and we would just give it to someone else if we didn't have a girl. That let loose a slow trickle of items over the years. The slate gray Philippe Starck baby carrier that Target carried briefly many years ago. An amazing cloth treehouse toy from Paris. A baby dress with bunnies on it that we couldn't resist when shopping for friends. And... I really don't want to admit this at all.... we bought $40 worth of mega-on-sale baby clothes at Old Navy this week because they will be the right season for our Penguin next year. If there is a Penguin. Good heavens. I am really pushing my luck here, huh?

Nah, I'm with you on the buying things front. Nothing. Can't even entertain the idea and probably won't until we get the news we're hoping for.
But with beta numbers like that, lady, I'd start shopping!!!

By the time we got pregnant, we had an IMPRESSIVE collection of baby clothes bought on sale... and, actually, most of them have worked really well, and the rest have served wonderfully as gifts for people. When we were stuck in TTC hell it helped us to look at our stash and visualize success.

I must be the odd girl out - we've bought nothing.

Then again...I'm Jewish and generally speaking, jews don't buy things for babies that aren't "here" yet.
