Signs Signs Everywhere Signs

I was completely convinced Finn would never sign. It seemed like everyone else's kid was signing but he would just look at us like he was wondering why we were waving our fingers around in front of his face. A few months ago I just gave up doing "more" and "all done" and "ball" and "milk" and god knows what. I accepted that our son wouldn't sign. Not all kids have to sign and we communicate okay so THERE.

::pout::

Finn has his first sign!

He started doing it a few days ago and it's not even one of the signs we've done consistently. Being a Foody Baby Finn is now signing FOOD! He he. That's my boy.

Mommy feels better. We are on our way to blissful toddler communication after all.

Go Finn Go! Get your sign on!

I used to think that Punk was clapping after every bite of food. I thought, "How cute, she likes her food so much she is clapping!" Then I realized she was signing 'more.' DUH.

Nothing else, though. I am convinced that the only word she'll ever say, aside from 'dada' will be kitty. She LOVES her some kitties.

Keep up the signing! Edie just recently got *really* interested (she had only been doing 3-5 signs for awhile). The past few weeks she has done at least one new sign every day. It's incredible!

Finn is really starting to speed up on the learning as well and it's amazing and a little nerve wracking. Sometimes he does something we KNOW we haven't taught him and we wonder exactly where he picked it up. Maybe late night baby meetings he sneaks out to.

Congrats, Finn! This is so good to hear. We've been signing to Gabriel for a month now and haven't seen any indication of him signing back yet. There is hope!

It's taken Toby ages as well; he's still only doing a couple of signs though. His main one is "bird" which he uses for all kinds of things, as well as for birds he sees/hears. He also occasionally does "more", and often curls up his hand, which I couldn't work out what it meant as he was using it all over the place, until I remembered that it's "milk", which of course I use with him loads.
Really looking forward to the signing vocab expanding!
