BP Rising

Firstly, congrats to Tamsin and Karen, and their just beautiful little boy, Toby.

My BP is still not behaving itself. 150/98 this am. Too high. Color Sacha NOT HAPPY. I'm working on wrapping my head around the fact that we're probably going to be induced.

My new goal to not be induced until Wed night or Thursday.

We see Dr. G. again on Tuesday. My pressure is coming down if I lie down on the couch, under 140/90, so we're just going to keep my on my ass for the time being and see how things go.

In the meantime, our oldest kitty seems to sense a major change is coming. All of the sudden she's become Toddler Cat, begging to be picked up constantly. She is NOT going to be happy when LB arrives.

I've got a question for you and you might have already considered this, but it depends on your doctor. Have you had LFT's done and are you testing your urine for protein? My OB does do the blood pressure and I'm on home BP's too (we're part of the cool kids crowd) but he also bases his decision making on the other things too, not just the BP numbers. Just wondering if it's worth getting some bloodwork done to keep an eye on those enzymes because they might be fine even with the elevated BP! Sorry if this is assvice - I just know you don't neccesarily want to be induced yet so maybe the extra testing will avoid it?

Not assvice at all. She did my LFTs and I do a urine at every visit. So far my LFTs are okay and I'm not spilling protein. I'm hoping if my labs stay okay and if I can lie down all flippin' day to keep my pressures down we can keep him in a little longer. I'm taking it a week at a time right now.

I'm working on getting myself mentally ready that induction is becoming a very real possibility.

And yes, we are the cool kids. I've actually worn out my bp cuff at this point.

Wow - that's kind of scary that your birth could be so imminent if you need to be induced! Exciting too, but it's hard to feel ready for it.

I can completely understand that you don't want to be induced, but after all the interventions that we ended up going through in our birth that we would never have planned, I'm sure that you'll feel alright about it if it does happen - you do whatever is necessary to get your boy out, and both be happy & healthy. The "how" is all very well planning for in advance, but you just need to go with the flow of the circumstances at the time.

Wishing you & M all the very best of luck, as and when it happens. You are going to be Mamas soon!
