Fussy Fourth

Our poor little man had such a rough day today. If he wasn't eating, he was sleeping and if he wasn't doing those two things, he was crying. He was just inconsolable.

M. was changing him, and as he was screaming on the changing table, she had a moment of pure mothers intuition. His cry wasn't his normal cry...it was a cry of pain. She looked into his little, crying mouth and there they were, just below the surface...

TEETH!!!

Our little boy is cutting teeth. It felt really good to finally understand why Finner had spent most of the day miserable. We dosed him on Tylenol and will head out tomorrow to buy all the hippy remedies on the planet. In the meantime, our boy is finally sleeping okay.

Our girl had the same exact sorta day! And we too found the white beginnings of teeth right beneath her gums. It seems so early, as she is just a few days younger than Finn.

What are the "hippy remedies" you will be trying???

Wow, two teeth at three months! Erik had the exact same kind of day when his first two came in. And he had the inconsolable crying fit as well, and about an hour later, there was a tooth. The next one came through the next morning. He's teething like crazy and is a complete grump this week so we're waiting (anxiously) for the next one...

Remedies: Hyland teething tablets, frozen cube of milk in a Munchkin feeder, frozen wash cloth.

Another I've heard of is two drops of clove oil in a tablespoon of vegetable oil then rub on the gums BUT I haven't been able to find the right oil. You have to find the kind in alcohol because it's more dilute.

My son didn't get teeth until he was over 10mo old. We started to get worried that he wasn't going to get them. He's 2.5 and they are still coming in! I just found 2 new molars poking through the other day...that's when I say "ohhhhhh that's why he's been waking up in the middle of the night for the past two weeks."

Teeth seem to be the worst. I still don't see any in Riley's mouth but she has bad teething days.
