Unwanted Intruder(s)
We've been broken into.
We came home to find the door open and things all over the floor. Our drawers were gone through. They dumped our jewelry boxes and made off with our VERY VALUBLE collection of craptastic costume jewelry.
All our electronics are still here except for my ipod (wahhhhhhhh) and all my DVDs (wahhhhhh).
They did take the necklace from Tiffany's I gave to M. years ago. It's not a hugely expensive piece but it was a gift. They missed my white gold black pearl ring because I keep it in a strange place.
I really really want to scrub our house from top to bottom but we're waiting for the police.
We're glad it wasn't worse. We feel pretty violated.

oh UG! How horrible. How skin-crawly! I would be hard-pressed not to drench my house in bleach. I hope you guys manage to get the hosue back in order, cleaned out, and can somehow feel safe tonight.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. It's so violating to know some asshole thief went through all your stuff. Unlikely, but I hope they catch the person(s).

i'm so sorry to hear about this! my family was broken into when i was in high school and i will never forget that feeling of being violated. you've absolutely got the right attitude though, as long as you 3 are safe that's really all that matters!
oh man, that's awful! :( i've never gone through something like that but i'd imagine it feels like you've been violated and i'd be so upset and angry. i hope most things can be replaced by insurance. the necklace i know will be missed as it had sentimental value. :(

I'm so sorry this happened to you guys! It happened to my parents two weeks ago. Weird thing is that although they bothered to kick in the door, they didn't take anything. Anyway, my mom is scared all the time now and I worry about them endlessly. I wish for peace of mind for you. The feeling of being violated is the worst. I'm so glad you guys are okay.
I just had someone break into my car last week, so I feel your pain. In my case they didn't take anything, just made a big mess looking for money or keys probably. I hope that they catch the creaps that broke into your house. It's scary!
crappity crap. i'm sorry. i've had that experience and it's icky. i hope you can make the insurance claim worthwhile (!!)

Oh no! You poor things :-( I hate people that do that shit. I know that you feel all creepy right now, but at least you know it was probably junkies who had zero interest in your personal belongings in a creepy way. Not that that makes it much better I guess!
Sorry to hear about the break-in... We had our car broken into not too long ago and I did feel violated. I can only imagine how much worse it would be if it had been my home. :(
