Cutest Baby Shoes in the World

I had planned on some long post about induction and my feelings around it. Screw that. It's time for uber cute baby boy things. Oh, I guess girl things are included too.

I found this brand of shoes in a consignment shop near our house. They are called See Kai Run. Check them out because they are really adorable.

Now, I am trying my hardest to be a practical mum. No going overboard on crappy toys. Our $5 rule has served us well in buying Baby Boy Clothes. But these shoes have officially found my weak spot.

THEY ARE SOOOOOO CUTE.

And I'm going to buy them. Okay, I'm going to buy them when he starts walking. They look to be around $39 a pair, and while that won't break the bank, it's a lot of shoes the little guy won't wear for very long.

BUT THEY ARE CUTE.

And I don't care. If momma gets nice shoes, baby boy gets nice shoes too.

Hey, nothing wrong with splurging. They are cute shoes!

$5 rule? Wow. I'm impressed. We admittingly spend a ton on baby stuff we don't really need but we just have so much fun doing it. :-P

We take the $5 rule seriously and have only violated it a few times.

The rule is $5 each piece (pre-tax). So overalls with a shirt and sweater COULD be $15.00 and stay in the $5 rule. And some one piece items that could work for top and bottom, like a jumper.

Deviations from the rule:

These adorable French baby clothes that were AMAZINGLY expensive, like $45.00 for a little jumper, and marked down to $10.

Baby pants and jeans. I will NOT pay $25-35 dollars for baby jeans, at the same time, it's almost impossible to keep in the $5 rule on pants. So the rule is officially $5-$10 for baby jeans.

We have seriously filled up our little dresser and almost all of it has been bought for under $5 each. All his clothes are brand-new and good quality except for one outfit that we bought at a thrift shop.

FABULOUS SHOES! Do they make these for girls too?

I also love Robeez, but they are like $30 a pair. I got Mikaela one pair on sale for $15.

5$ rule, eh? I have to implement this in my household. We currently have no self-control. I swear our child has more clothes and shoes than we do - put together!!!! :))

We shop sales a season or two early and get great deals on designer clothing. Do you have a Dillards? They have a FANTASTIC sale twice a year when their already great bargains on clearance clothes are even better (plus they clearance out a lot of stuff at the time, too) we got a entire outfit, plus a coat, by donna karan for Julia for $5 last winter. It fits her this year and it's so cute!

we do spend more on shoes, though. Kristin is convinced that her foot problems are because she was put in ill-fitting and poorly made shoes during her foot formative years. We'll go up to $25 on a pair of really great, comfortable shoes. We spent more on Robeez, though, because Robeez fit for so long (she's still wearing the pair we bought her a year ago). I hadn't heard of this brand, but Kristin's going to flip! Did you see Julia's puddle jumpers from Shoe Week's yesterday installment?

Those are adorable shoes!
I think hand-me-downs and consignment stuff is a great way to go with clothes!
I have a friend who spends her entire paycheck at Baby Gap.
I love your $5 rule!

Holly check out the link to the See Kai Run website. LOTS of girl shoes. Let's just say I'm glad we're having a boy because there are about six pairs of adorablely cute girl shoes I would HAVE to have.

Trista Kristin's right about the foot issues and good shoes as a child. It really is an area NOT to skimp.

I did see Julia's puddle jumpers, which reminded me I needed to follow up on looking for these shoes. She inspired this post. They are SO CUTE.

Good lord, seems the only phrase I can use lately is SO CUTE. Argh.

I say, everyone should get at least one pair of uber-cute baby shoes. You'll have lots of cute clothes to show him later, but shoes are their own category. And those don't even look like baby torture devices!

Sounds like a great rule. I just don't know that we have any kind of self control. Angele bought a handmade dress that cost over $100. hehehe. We're horrible. And we do shop at places like Baby Gap, Gymboree, Children's Place, etc. We're suckers, what can I say? ;)

God, I wish we had a $5. I'm not big into buying a lot of stuff, but I have bought a few *really* overpriced things. Most of them have been WAHM made though, so somehow that justifies it. Or I tell my mom to buy it. Our kid is going to be *spoiled rotten* by the grandmas, that's for sure! I told them as long as it's quality stuff (wooden and cloth toys, no character toys or clothes) they can spend as much as they want, haha!

Gee, thanks Sacha. I clicked the link and have viewed about $200 of "must haves" for my daughter.

Hmmm...must find way to conceal superfluous, adorable, baby footwear shopping spree from husband. hehe
